- Bachata classes every Friday and Saturday at 6 at Salsa-Baby (Albuquerque)
- Bachata/Bachatango every Saturday at 5 at Double Time, open dance after. Your first Bachata class at Double Time or Salsa-Baby is free when you mention AMP Concerts!
- Beginning & Intermediate Bachata every Tuesday at Santa Rueda (Santa Fe)
- Beginning & Intermediate Bachata every Monday in March at the Harwood Art Center with Sarita Streng and Shawn Claude Miller. Info: 505-288-8713.

2-4 PM: Bachata dance class with Sarita Streng (April 11) and Marisela (April 18) ($5 suggested donation)
4 PM: Screening of El Duque de la Bachata ($5 suggested donation). El Duque de la Bachata is a documentary film about Joan Soriano, a Bachata musician from the Dominican Republic, as he struggles to reach his goal of a hit CD and success as a musician. It is also the story of his large extended family living in the rural countryside of Monte Plata near Santo Domingo. They dream along with him, hoping that his success will improve their economic situation and quality of life. Joan Soriano is the youngest of the musicians who will be performing with the Legends.

In celebration of the dazzling CD Bachata Roja—Acoustic Bachata from the Cabaret Era that showcases classic Dominican Bachata stars from the 60s-80s, we are thrilled to present this special concert by a few of the enduring legends who appear on the album. These unsung heroes, charted the course of bachata's rise to international popularity as they struggled to create one of the greatest Afro-Caribbean dance styles in spite of decades of censorship. Rediscover the early icons that pioneered romantic, guitar-driven ballads and irresistible dance rhythms, and discover emerging bachatero stars from today's younger generation.
The featured performers at this concert will include Edilio Paredes, who played the lead guitar on "many more than a thousand" tracks over three decades and helped shape the genre; El Chivo, one of bachata's most popular and prolific singer/songwriters; Joan Soriano, one of the younger stars who is preserving the traditional and classic styles of Dominican music—and the subject of the film El Duque de la Bachata; and Puerto Plata, the veteran sonero who wowed the audience at ¡Globalquerque! 2007. The dance floor will be open!
