Route 66 Community Day

Join the Museum of International Folk Art, the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, New Mexico History Museum and the New Mexico Museum of Art in celebrating the Centennial of Route 66. This event will begin downtown on Old Santa Fe Trail across from the Roundhouse with a classic car show at 10 AM.

A car cruise from downtown up to Museum Hill will begin at 12 PM. On Museum Hill, there will be a car show and demonstrations along with the Dine 'Tah Navajo Dancers, music from the Jacob Shije Trio and Los Domingueros, story time, face painting and discussions of the meaning and impact of Route 66 on New Mexico.

Food trucks including Freshies Juices, Laguna Burger, Over The Moon, Palateria Oasis, Sno Cloud and Taqueria Gracias Madre will be on-site.

Hop on the FREE Santa Fe Trails shuttle bus that will run continuously from 10:30 AM-5:30 PM between the PERA lot and Museum Hill with a final pick-up of 5 PM and 5:30 PM.  (The PERA lot is at 1120 Paseo de Peralta - across from the State Capital and near the Santa Fe Visitor Information Center.)

Los Domingueros are a Bilingual Latin Skapunk band. Blending Latin Ska, punk, reggae, Rock and a little bit of Cumbia, the band has created a borderland sound that packs a punch. The band has been nominated for several awards, as well as NM Entertainment magazine's top Latin act, and voted top performer of 2025 by NM Living. They have even appeared in video game soundtracks.
