A rare opportunity to enjoy remarkable Tuvan throat singing in the intimate FUSION 708 gallery/theater!
The mother of Alash musician Bady-Dorzhu Ondar passed away suddenly and he had to return home to bring his mother's body from Murmansk to Kyzyl and to arrange her funeral rites. Our condolences to him for his loss.
The band is flying in Soriah, a long time Alash friend and collaborator, to join Ayan and Aian-ool for their upcoming shows. We'll all miss Bady-Dorzhu, but are still looking forward to a beautiful night of Tuvan music.
The band had a schedule change and is able to add a second performance on Friday night. Since our first show is sold out, we are excited to offer more people a chance to see these remarkable musicians. Join us for some amazing late-night Tuvan music after our Yungchen Lhamo concert on Friday. We'll be offering a discount for anyone attending the Yungchen Lhamo concert that evening!
Alash are masters of Tuvan throat singing, a remarkable technique for singing multiple pitches at the same time. Masters of traditional Tuvan instruments as well as the art of throat singing, Alash are deeply committed to traditional Tuvan music and culture. At the same time, they are fans of western music. Believing that traditional music must constantly evolve, the musicians subtly infuse their songs with western elements, creating their own unique style that is fresh and new, yet true to their Tuvan musical heritage.
