Museum Hill Community Celebration

FREE registration required.
AMP is happy to once again join forces with the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture and the Museum of International Folk Art for their annual Community Day Celebration! Anyone who came to the Extravaganza on Museum Hill last year knows what a great party that was.
Gathering Seeds, Tending Roots is a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Santa Fe’s UNESCO designation as the first creative city for folk art and craft in 2005. This free, familyfriendly event brings together community members, artists, musicians, and cultural leaders for a full day of vibrant programming reflecting how Santa Fe area artists and tradition bearers are addressing the UNESCO sustainable development goal of cultural and climate resiliency through their expressive practices. The 350 cities in the UNESCO international creative cities network work together towards a common objective: placing creativity and culture at the heart of their development plans working at the local level and actively engaging and cooperating at the international level. Visitors of all ages will have opportunities to learn about traditional and contemporary foodways, explore storytelling across cultures, and engage with the arts in hands-on and meaningful ways.
Enjoy delicious eats from local favorites Manko, Paleteria Oasis, Clay Pot Ethiopian Cuisine and The Toasted Cheezer.

The Zuni Olla Maidens are a venerated dance troupe from Zuni Pueblo in western New Mexico, equally well-known for singing, drumming and their trademark dance balancing pottery on their heads, as well as being an all-female troupe. The Zuni Olla Maidens are also unique in that their group has always consisted of related women, making it a family affair for more than 70 years.
Beginning in an age before Spanish was even spoken in the Americas, continuing up to present times, ¡Viva México! celebrates the incredibly rich heritage of Mexican music, dance and poetry.
Felix Y Los Gatos is a New Mexico band that seamlessly merges blues and Cumbia influences. Led by Felix Gato Peralta, who impressively handles vocals, harmonica, guitar, and the button accordion, the band explores their Chicano and Native American roots.
Jordan Wax is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, and traditional musician. For the past 25 years, he has studied intergenerational music traditions with elders from a variety of cultural lineages in the Missouri Ozarks, Central Mexico, Ecuador, Northern New Mexico, and Greater Yiddishland, and directed his own collaborative ensembles in the context of Ashkenazi, Ozark, and Indo-Hispanic cultural revitalizations.
Ailani is a musician, producer, songwriter, and performer who began writing songs at 12 and released her first album at 16. With five albums released and over 100,000 plays across streaming platforms, she blends indie pop rock with themes of freedom, youthfulness, self-discovery, love, and heartbreak. Ailani has performed over 80 shows across the Southwest and views music as her primary form of self-expression and vulnerability.
Hailing from the vibrant Southwest region, Jir Project isn't just making waves in the music scene; they're orchestrating a tidal wave of sonic innovation fused with deep-rooted tradition. With a trajectory that's skyrocketed since their inception, this trio has become synonymous with electrifying Blues-Rock performances that leave audiences craving more.
