With the fusion of Mexican and Puerto Rican upbringings, Severo y Grupo Fuego has had a successful career in the Latin music scene since 2005. With a male and female vocalist, Severo and Marissa bring traditional Latin music to the public while incorporating their own influences to this music genre.
The band includes 6 members and is made up of musicians from all over the United States. Their first album, Amor de Familia, was issued in 2005 and went on to win several Hispano Music Awards including Upcoming Group of the Year. In 2008, Quiero Mas won the group Latino/Pop Song of the Year and Salsa/Tropical Song of the year. In November 2010, their third album Todo de Mi highlighted Severo y Grupo Fuego's versatility as musicians and performers.
Severo y Grupo Fuego has taken the art of recording and performing Latin music to a whole new level. They have performed all over the Southwest region of the United States, including New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, and Colorado. Severo y Grupo Fuego will always make you get up and dance with their high-energy shows. Their pride, passion, and drive shine every minute they are on stage.
Their fifth studio album titled Amar sin ser Amado upholds the high standard of music produced and released by Severo y Grupo Fuego and is receiving a tremendous amount of airplay throughout the United States and Latin America. With this album, Severo y Grupo Fuego was awarded Salsa/ Tropical Song of the year, Conjunto/ Norteño song of the year, and named Vocal Duo of the year by the NMHMA. They were also nominated as Band of the Year among other top names in the New Mexico Music scene and nominated as best new male artist by the Tejano Music Awards.
