Los Poblanos Fields Open Space (partially managed by the Rio Grande Community Farm) holds a special place in the history of Albuquerque. It occupies the original site of Los Poblanos, one of the earliest Spanish Colonial settlements in the Rio Grande Valley. It is, in fact, a living link in an agricultural heritage that extends over 1700 years, making it among the oldest parcels of continually farmed land in the United States. Years of hard work have transformed the neglected land into community gardens, wildlife habitat, and certified organic croplands. These provide educational experiences, community service projects, recreation and entertainment to a broad segment of our population while honoring our history and protecting the environment. This farm offers excellent year-round bird watching opportunities. Kestrels, hawks and songbirds frequent the farm, and hundreds of Sandhill Cranes and Canada Geese visit in the fall and winter.

An award-winning indie Folk Americana Français duo from Albuquerque, NM, Bébé La La features singer-songwriter, guitarist, violist Alicia Ultan and vocalist-accordionist, songwriter Maryse Lapierre, who is originally from Quebec, Canada. Formed in 2010, Bébé La La combines Lapierre's French influences with Ultan's original folk-inspired "art" songs and boasts a unique and lovely repertoire that highlights their signature "stunning" harmonies.
Bébé La La released their debut album, High Wire, in 2015, for which they received two New Mexico Music Awards (NMMA) and they are currently completing their follow up album, due for release in early fall 2022. They recently received two nominations for two of their songs from the upcoming release for the 2022 NMMA's (awards to be given out in late May) and they were nominated for another song on that same CD for the 2021 awards.
Music writer James Mahoney writes, "Bébé La La's music – Wild - Alternative – Magic! Hearing this music is, strangely, like opening up a new set of Tarot cards – with very new images: wild re-structurings of the dramas in each of the cards, so that both vital mystery and authentic emotion – along with a symbol system – are all living together in an advanced beauty."
Rounding out their already richly textured music are Micky Patten on bass and Cal Haines on drums.
