With gritty vocals over rock riffs and horns, Pittsburgh band The Commonheart delivers an emotion-packed, soulful sound that lights up any stage. Frontman Clinton Clegg is a powerhouse who commands full attention with his limitless onstage energy and vocal range. The band's debut album Grown is a remarkable display of each member's talent interlacing heavy blues, soul, and gospel influence across trumpet, saxophone, keys, guitar, and singers. The Commonheart's sound is a true testament to the past while completely holding its own as one of today's most promising acts.
"Singer Clinton Clegg’s soulful singing brings to mind the late greats Joe Cocker and Otis Redding... With rock, soul, blues, and gospel all in their repertoire, you’re going to want to worship at the alter of The Commonheart." (The Jamwich)
Shake Alert, Santa Fe's favorite Afrobeat & Funk band, is a happy explosion of musical energy and invention that draws from the diverse experiences of its members: a super funky Texan bassist; a guitar-slinging young'un from New England; an educator who moonlights as a deejay, producer and vocalist; a keyboard wizard masquerading as a semi-retired social worker; and a rotating gaggle of highly adept drummers and percussionists who play everything from authentic African and Brazilian street music to brainy avant-garde jazz. All of this stuff shows up in Shake Alert's all-original, all homegrown music, but the primary directive is to throw down some filthy, unfiltered funk and get you up off your butt and onto the dance floor!
