This Event Has Ended

Tickets are $17 in advance, $20 day of show (including all service charges). They are also available by phone through Hold My Ticket at 505-886-1251.

Willie Green Project will start at 7:30 prompt and Charlie Hunter will take the stage at 9pm.

With a career spanning 25 years and almost 20 albums, Charlie Hunter consistently ups his game as an innovative writer and bandleader. He has worked with the likes of Norah Jones, Mos Def, John Mayer, D'Angelo and countless others. He is widely considered the authority on the seven- and eight- string guitar, and continues to stun audiences with his ability to simultaneously bust out tasty bass parts, melodic leads and swinging rhythms.

Hunter has previously recorded for the venerable Blue Note label, Concord, Ropeadope, GroundUP and others. His recent independent venture is steered by his motivation to release music that most inspires him. Critics have touted his genius technique, but it's his profound artistic sensibility that propels his original music. Hunter's signature style of writing and performing has secured his place as one of today's great guitarists.

Willie Green Project is a 5-piece band of accomplished young jazz players from New Orleans. Willie Green, bandleader and drummer, fell in love with drums early in his childhood by playing gospel music in his dad's church. It was there that his spiritual sensibility was born, and he has continued to infuse that spirituality into his performances and compositions ever since. Since he graduated from Loyola University in 2015, Willie has had the opportunity to play with New Orleans' most promising up-and-comers and local legends alike, including Ellis Marsalis, Roderick Paulin, Gregory Agid, and Betty Shirley. He has played major festivals both at home and across the world, including Manchester Jazz Festival in the UK, Mid Atlantic Jazz Fest, French Quarter Festival, and New Orleans' world-renowned Jazz Fest. A recent career highlight has been serving as drummer in the 18-piece Uptown Jazz Orchestra led by Delfayo Marsalis, performing at Lincoln Center's "Dizzy's Club Coca Cola" last year.

The band also includes Taylor Mroski (bass), Michael Gourdin (vibraphone), Trevarri Huff-Boone (saxophone) and Stephen Tumblin (percussion). Their debut album, Love Will Find a Way, was recorded at Esplanade Studios in New Orleans, and was released in September 2017.
