This event is part of the 2020 Revolutions International Theatre (and Music!) Festival, put on by our friends at Tricklock Company.
AMP & South Broadway Cultural Center are embarking on a new project to provide cultural programs for the schools in the SBCC neighborhood.
This program is not open to the general public, but for the local school kids. We will have a full house for this one, as the entire South Valley Academy will be joining us!
We will try to stream the shows live on Facebook, though, so feel free to join us online!
The multi-award winning Ndere Troupe has been gracing stages for almost 35 years with high quality performances that have resulted in worldwide appreciation and fame. The Ndere Troupe performs a repertoire of more than 40 authentic Ugandan dances and songs accompanied by various indigenous percussive, stringed and wind instruments. The Troupe also engages in various projects aimed at keeping African generations educated about traditional entertainment and also uses traditional entertainment to spread knowledge about current issues such as modern farming techniques and HIV/AIDS. This performance will be a selection of dances, songs, and stories in order to share the work they do with the Albuquerque community.
Thanks to the City of Albuquerque for funding support on this project.
