Acknowledged worldwide as a rare talent in flamenco and classical guitar genres, Adam del Monte transcends labeling and convention as a performer and composer in both genres. He incorporates a wide array of musical styles in his compositions for a unique sound and language of flamenco that is steeped in tradition and also progressive in its openness to musical flavors from around the world.

Blending flamenco with opera, Llantos 1492, the world's first flamenco opera, is set against the backdrop of the Spanish Inquisition and the fall of Granada. The central figure is Youssef Biboldo, a Jewish lawyer who defies the Inquisition, resulting in escalating persecution for him, his family, and a group of Roma people.

Thanks to the New Mexico Music Commission and the Friends of the Public Library for funding these library shows!
